»»	WEST BENGAL : In view of the recent gas finds in the Bay of Bengal area , AGCL is exploring the possibilities for making the gas available to different consumers in West Bengal
»»	CNG    Natural gas by virtue of its inherent properties is a clean fuel and considered as environment friendly.   Use of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) as alternate vehicle fuel can contribute immensely towards making a clean environment.    AGCL has envisaged the following plans to make CNG available in the NE region. ° Having started the pilot project at AGCL Duliajan, the company is exploring possibilities of using its extensive pipeline network to set up and market CNG in various cities of Assam ° Joint venture participation with investors from outside the state. AGCL role shall be to ensure the supply of gas and develop entrepreneurs for operating Retail CNG Outlets with due support from Private/ Govt. agencies like IBP, IOC, HPCL, BPCL etc.
»»	GAS BASED THERMAL POWER PLANTS    ° Natural gas has been envisaged as the prime source of energy for the future. The power plants across the country are looking at Natural gas as the most viable energy options. ° With this aim in view AGCL is planning for Joint ventures with Private/Govt. agencies for various capacities ranging from 5 MW to 60 MW Power plants. ° The plants shall be located at different parts of Assam and subsequently outside the state.
